INTRINSIC DISSOLUTION (USP 1087) - "Wood Apparatus"
Intrinsic Dissolution (auch "Wood Apparatus" genannt) kann man gemäß USP chapter 1087 als die Freisetzungsrate einer Substanz bei konstanten Oberflächenbedingungen definieren. Sie unterscheidet sich zu den konventionellere USP-Methoden darin, dass nur die Oberfläche von 7mm im Durchmesser mit dem Dissolution Medium in Kontakt sind.
Damit kann die Freisetzung des reinen Wirkstoffs (API) oder eines losen Pulvers bestimmt werden, was wichtig für das Verständnis der Wirkung bei der Entwicklung neuer Medikamente ist.
Das Intrinsic Set besteht aus einer Platte, die die sichere Aufnahme des "Die" in der Presse ermöglicht. Mit der Presse wird der Stempel in den "Die" gedrückt, um den Wirkstoff nach Vorschrift zu pressen. Der "Die" mit dem eingepressten Wirkstoff inkl. Stempel wird dann an den Schaft mit Halter geschraubt.
