ROTATING CYLINDER (USP 6)
The rotating cylinder method (USP 6) is similar to the USP 1 method (basket method). However, the basket is replaced with a special 316 stainless steel cylinder. The transdermal patch is attached to the outer surface of the cylinder. The transdermal test is conducted at 32°C to reflect the temperature of the skin. Other variables, such as elevation and sampling requirements, are the same as the USP 1 method. QLA's Rotating Cylinders and Extensions are all marked with serial numbers, come with a Certificate of Conformity and are compatible with most brands of dissolution testers.
